3. Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not share your data with other companies, organizations and individuals unless one of the following circumstances applies:
3.1 Sharing with your Consent
We do not share your personal information with third parties without an appropriate legal basis. Before personal data such as selected photos that may contain faces, prompts, story text or character descriptions is sent to a third-party AI service provider, we provide an in-app disclosure identifying the data to be sent and the recipient and, where required, obtain your explicit permission before the transfer. You may withdraw this permission for future AI data sharing through the available in-app consent control.
3.2 Legal Compliance and Protection of Rights
We may disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process.
- Protect and defend our rights or property.
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
- Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
- Protect against legal liability.
3.3 Service Providers and Partners
We may share only the minimum personal information necessary with third parties that help us operate, secure and provide the App. We require these providers to protect personal information and to process it only for the purposes for which it is disclosed.
Service Providers: We may use service providers for cloud hosting, storage, customer support, analytics, attribution, crash reporting, authentication, notifications and AI processing. These providers are permitted to access only the information necessary to perform their services and must provide privacy and security protections that are the same as or equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy.
AI Processing Providers: For Maker features, photos selected or taken by you (which may contain faces), prompts, story ideas, character names and descriptions may be sent to fal.ai and the image or video model providers it operates solely to generate the characters, images and videos you request. We do not use this data to train AI models, and we require our AI processing providers not to use your submitted data for model training. Where available, zero-retention and no-training options are enabled.
Analytics, Attribution and Notification Providers: Device or install identifiers, IDFA (only if you permit tracking), usage events, crash or performance information, and push tokens may be processed by providers such as Adjust, TikTok, Meta, Firebase (Google), and OneSignal for attribution, analytics, diagnostics, and notification delivery.
Authentication Providers: If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, Apple or Google may provide us with the account information described in Section 1 so that we can create and authenticate your account.
Business Partners: We may share limited data, such as contact details and demographic information, with our business partners with whom we collaborate to provide you the best services or promotional offers. This is only done with your explicit consent and is strictly controlled under confidentiality agreements, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and limiting use to the agreed purposes.
3.4 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your Personal Data may be shared or transferred as part of such a transaction, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
3.5 Public Interactions
If you engage in activities on public areas of our services, your information can be seen by others and may be read, collected, or used by them. You are advised to exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information in these areas.
3.6 Cookies
We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions. This helps us offer better site experiences and tools in the future. You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
4. App-Specific Permissions
The main Permissions used by SomeDrama: Short Drama & Maker are described below.
Permission 1: NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription. This permission allows you to select specific character or reference photos for AI generation in the Maker feature. The App accesses only the photos you select and does not access your entire photo library.
Permission 2: NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription. This permission allows the App to save generated images and videos to your photo library when you choose Save. This is write-only access and does not allow the App to read your existing photos through this permission.
Permission 3: NSCameraUsageDescription. This permission allows the App to access your device camera when you choose to take a character or reference photo for AI generation.
Permission 4: NSUserTrackingUsageDescription (App Tracking Transparency). This permission allows the App to request your consent to access the IDFA for advertising attribution and campaign performance measurement through services such as Adjust, TikTok, and Meta. The IDFA is used only if you grant permission.
Permission 5: UNUserNotificationCenter (Push Notifications). This permission allows the App to send notifications about new episodes, followed series, and other content updates through Apple Push Notification service and OneSignal. The system prompt appears only after you choose to enable notifications, and you may disable them at any time through your device settings.
Permission 6: AI Data Sharing Consent (In-App Consent). Before personal information is sent to a third-party AI service, the App asks for your explicit consent. The consent screen explains what information may be sent, including photos that may contain faces, prompts, story text, and character descriptions, and identifies the relevant AI service providers. You may withdraw your consent through the App.
Permission 7: Internet Access. Internet access allows the App to load cover images, stream videos, synchronize watch progress and My List, and connect to the Maker backend. iOS does not require a separate system permission for Internet access.
Permission 8: Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In / Email OTP. These sign-in methods allow you to create or access an account. Where applicable, we receive only the email address and basic profile information, such as name and avatar, made available by the relevant provider. You may browse the App as a guest without signing in.
Permission 9: UIBackgroundModes: audio. This capability allows video audio to continue playing in the background and enables Now Playing controls on the device lock screen.
Permission 10: UIActivityViewController (Share Sheet). This feature opens the native iOS share sheet when you choose to share a drama link with another app.
These permissions are essential for the app to function properly and are strictly used in accordance with Apple's App Store guidelines to ensure a secure, efficient, and user-respecting operation. The app prioritizes user rights and privacy, implementing these permissions to enhance user experience without compromising privacy and security.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
5.7 Data Retention and Deletion

When your account is deleted, whether by you or by us (including where an account is removed because of a violation), or upon receiving a valid data deletion request, we will securely delete or anonymize your Personal Data, including stored user content and associated face data, in accordance with our internal procedures and applicable law. Certain information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution, and residual copies may take additional time to be removed from backup systems.
